After analyzing what seemed like hundreds of Pinterest hospital bag checklists during my first pregnancy, I realized what I absolutely need this time around and what I can leave at home. Hopefully this list helps you narrow down your hospital bag needs!
CLOTHES: You will definitely still look a little pregnant and you will want to be as comfortable as possible with no tight seams or elastic across your body.
TOILETRIES: It definitely helps to already have a toiletries bag that you regularly have stocked and ready to go for travel and emergencies. Gathering all of these things can be overly time consuming and you’ll likely forget something.

FOR BABY
UNNECESSARY ITEMS PACKED IN 1ST PREGNANCY HOSPITAL BAG: The hospital actually provides a lot for moms and babies. Tip: Ask the nurses for extras of whatever you like. Don’t be shy! Bring a big reusable bag to put it all in too!

- Fleece pullover sweater
- Comfy robe
- 1 pair of postpartum leggings— I love the BLANQI ones. The compression feels great since your mid section will feel loose and fragile. I didn’t pack any leggings the first time and I wish I did because a belly band was uncomfortable to sit and lie down in.
- OR 1 pair of regular high-waisted leggings— I love the Lularue ones because they’re super soft and don’t roll down.
- Postpartum belly wrap (if you don’t like compression leggings)
- Soft and comfy socks with/without grips on the bottom (if you don’t like the hospital ones)
- Nursing tank or bra— A nursing tank is more comfortable to wear under a postpartum belly wrap.
- Nursing scarf— Not needed if you’re comfortable nursing in front of your visitors.
- Comfy clothes for your partner like 1-2 soft T-shirts, a hoodie, and a pair of joggers
