DIY DINING TABLE
MATERIALS NEEDED
- 2x6 smooth redwood (7)
- Minwax USA stain (coats): cherry (2), honey (1), grey (1), early American (1)
- Minwax USA interior/exterior polyurethane (3 coats)
- Dollar Tree wide paintbrushes. Reused a couple for the stains, but needed a new one for each poly coat. The stain may have turned out better with a higher quality brush or towel/rag.
- SmartStandard hairpin legs* from our old IKEA desk hack
- power drill
- ceramic deck screws
- wood filler for cracks
- sanding block
- adjustable clamp
ASSEMBLE (Adam’s dad did step 3-5)
- Take a photo of how you want the boards put together
- Sand each piece and fill cracks
- Cut one piece of wood for 3 bottom support pieces
- Press boards tightly with clamp (bottom of table faced up)
- Secure the 3 support wood pieces with a drill
- Practice stain combos on the bottom of the table top then apply 2 coats of poly
- Stain the top and apply 3 coats of poly
- Attach legs
